Teow Chew Ming (Teow Chew Meng) @ Sunway Tunas, Bayan Baru, Penang

If you follow my post about Duck Drumstick Mee Sua, you should know what is Mee Sua. But if you don't, it's ok. I went to have Mee Sua Kor at Teow Chew Ming last few days. Mee Sua is a kind of thin Chinese noodle made of wheat flour, which is also known as Longevity Mee, as it is long. For more about Mee Sua, please check out my previous post. Mee Sua Kor is sticky mee sua. See the picture below, the picture speaks it all. Normally, they eat mee sua in herb soup but this Teow Chew style restaurant, Teow Chew Ming, they came out with a different cooking method. Mee Sua alone is actually tasteless but this restaurant, successfully came out with a new taste of mee sua, like "Mee Sua Revolution".

I love the mee sua because you can taste a different cooking method and taste of mee sua. The dish comes with a variety of topping such as seafood, fish fillet and oysters. The one I had is Fish Fillet Mee Sua Kor (Kor means gum in Hokkien, so it is sticky). The fish fillet is fresh and nice. Most of the people who came here really had a good time and commented that the mee sua is really nice. However, it is a little bit pricey here. But recently, they lowered down their price. But, good food is worth every pennies you forked out.

The big pot of mee sua kor above is actually for 2 pax. If you order 1 pax, they will serve it in a bowl but for 2 pax and above, they serve it in a big pot. If you notice, you see that it is just mee sua and fish fillet with a sprinkle of spring onions. But the hidden taste is indescribable here. Actually there is a bit of egg in it.

If you ask me, personally, I would recommend that you add in a few drops of vinegar (according to your taste) to boost the taste of the mee sua kor. Don't put too much or you will spoil the whole pot

Recently, I am going for healthy diet, so I ordered a plate of baby cabbage too. The baby cabbage is stir-fry the Teow Chew style. It tastes good too. So, try out this Mee Sua Kor at Teow Chew Ming.
